Wreath-Making Workshop: To celebrate the season of giving

  • Federal Way, WA, 98003 (map)

As the season of giving surrounds us, we gather at hālau to create, connect, and give thanks. 🌺

In this wreath-making workshop, Kumu will share the wisdom of his ʻohana and kūpuna — teaching us to craft with what the ʻāina so generously provides. 🌿✨

Ancestral knowledge passed down through generations, guiding us to create with intention and aloha.  A time to reflect, to give, and to weave beauty together, just as those who came before us did.

We will learn how to gather what the ʻāina offers and transform it into something beautiful to display or gift to one another. Kumu will guide us in how and where to gather, taking us to a picking location to handpick materials while learning from his teachings.

The first hour or two will be dedicated to knowledge sharing and gathering of materials. After that, you’re welcome to stay and continue working on your wreath, or simply enjoy being in community with one another. You may also choose to take your wreath home to complete, perhaps adding pieces from your own ʻāina.

Through this practice, we honor the generous giving of the land — and, in turn, give freely to one another in celebration of this season of giving. 🤍
